ASL has brought its values of Quality, Reliability and Performance to the area of Component MRO with the opening of its new dedicated Aircraft Component Repair facility, a 24,000 sq ft, state of the art suite of workshops at Taylor’s End, London-Stansted Airport.

Stansted Airport has been a respected centre for Component Repair & Overhaul and engineering excellence for over 40 years. Using the latest tooling/test equipment and employing a core contingent of experienced and highly trained aviation technicians, Airline Services Aircraft Component Repair enters the market with the infrastructure, competence and capability of an established MRO provider.

Capability

ASL’s Aircraft Component Repair facility provides test, repair and overhaul for a wide range of components including Avionics (Instruments, Radio, Radar) inc GCU’s, FMCs, Hydraulics, Mechanical, Valves, Actuators, Pumps, Structures, Safety Equipment, Generator and Electrical Accessories, Galley and Galley Inserts, Cabin Interior Trim and Cargo Bay panels, Gyros, Lighting, Generator and Electrical Accessories. ASL also provides a competitive Calibration service for line and workshop tooling and equipment. In addition, the facility is approved and will manufacture ASL’s latest IFE equipment – the Aerostream XP1 solid state digital video player.

The new workshops will have capability to service a diverse range of aircraft types both Fixed Wing and Rotary, Widebody, Narrowbody, Regional, Commercial, Corporate, VIP.

Facility Expansion Schedule

October 2010 - Phase 1 Opening of the Interior Trim shop in late 2010, now the first choice for many airlines and MRO’s in the repair of Sidewalls, Ceiling panels, Cargo Bay Panels, Galleys and related composite and laminated items.

June/July 2011 - Phase 2 The addition of state-of-the-art workshops for Avionics/Electrical, Battery & Galley Equipment (utilising our RADA Smart Cats Automatic Test Equipment ATE). The approval expansion includes repair of doors and frames, cockpit sliding windows, structural items such as leading edges. In addition ASL provides extensive tooling calibration services both in the workshop and on-site via a mobile service team to suit customer requirements.

Sept-Dec 2011 - Phase 3 Further expansion including Hydraulics (AVTRON Semi ATE) Oxygen, Safety Equipment, Electrical Power, Aircraft Lighting, Mechanical and further Structures.
